These spoilers assume that Five will keep going until 17th December,
then take a two-week Christmas break to return on 3rd January 2011.
SPOILERS FOR NEIGHBOURS, 03-07 JAN'11 (6046-6050)
As the trial commences, it's Mrs.Fitzgerald who's caught out when Kate's
testimony contradicts her statement to the police. After Donna leaves the
court to get some air, she's disgusted by Paul's attempts to make her come
back, and Zeke's explanation that she's being used to unsettle Stephanie -
who that night is boosted by Summer giving her a stylish new suit, without
disclosing how Lucas had sold some of his tools to pay $1500 for it. Sonya
clashes with Jarrod over his plans to put Dr.Harris on the stand.
Against Stephanie's wishes, Jarrod bases his defence strategy on her
postnatal depression. Donna organises a street barbecue, and puts Paul on
probation by making him work with Karl at the grill. Samantha observes how
as soon as Stephanie sees Doug at court, she feels ambushed and walks out.
Donna hopes the barbecue will diffuse tension, except Kate & Declan fight
over Mark. Though Jarrod convinces Stephanie to trust him, Mrs.Fitzgerald
soon discredits Dr.Harris since he dated the defendant's best friend.
When Michael gives Andrew some extra tutoring at home, he accidentally
discovers how Rebecca & Paul sleep in two beds disguised as one. Libby has
to steady Stephanie's nerves when Jarrod applies for her & Daniel to have
joint custody of Adam. Michael accepts Rebecca's excuses, but offers to be
a good listener. Natasha's playing hard to get merely leaves Andrew out of
sorts with her. Rebecca tells Michael what she dare not share with Susan
or Lyn - she is only living with Paul because he won't let her go.
Rebecca realises she's put Declan in danger so insists she's committed
to Paul, which makes Michael back away. Lou's return prompts Lyn to follow
Donna's street barbecue by organising a blood donation drive in honour of
Ringo. After Declan boasts about his company car, Kate is amused when Mark
counters that he doesn't have stop for red lights. Rebecca sadly agrees to
just be friends with Michael. Karl bitterly accuses Lyn of hypocrisy since
she's protecting the woman who killed Ringo, and Susan has to back him.
Libby continues to support Stephanie who urges Lyn not to throw away her
friendship with Susan. Andrew ruins Natasha's romantic dreams of becoming
the 'King & Queen of Hearts' at the school social, by telling her the idea
sucks. Susan simply doesn't know what to say, when Lyn comes to apologise.
Because this social is actually pushing Andrew & Summer together, Natasha
steals the ticket money hoping to wreck the event. Realising that Samantha
has a vendetta, Susan advises Libby to do whatever she thinks is right.

Wednesday's episode was partly directed by Scott Major, who plays Lucas
Fitzgerald (and previously was Darren Stark). According to a press release
he's always been interested in the other side of the camera, and last year
wrote, produced & directed a play, "The Subtle Art of Flirting". Jonathon
Dutton (who was Tad Reeves eight years ago) is now a regular director, but
Mr.Major is the first actor to take the helm whilst in the current cast.
Whenever it seems Libby is somewhere else while people talk about her, it
is because actress Kym Valentine was ill when those scenes were filmed.
